When I'm sitting in the hot tub staring at the stars, musing to myself about what could have been if Axl Rose weren't such an idiot, sometimes I forget what I've written or, worse, forget where I've put it.
Since August, I've generally put it somewhere here. But here is getting bigger, so this is a list of less-frequent topic categories with links to the pages where I might refind what I thought about them. Wish me luck.
Truly Random Topics -- Things that have nothing to do with anything else, as far as I can tell. Humor -- Posts that are not funny but refer to other writing/people who are. World Affairs -- Things I think are of global importance, in a long-winded way. Astronomy -- A pet topic that fascinates me, one about which I know little but pretend to know...a little more. Global Warming -- If you take the long view, it is of some concern. Environment -- Digging this planet's got to do with more than just climate change. Human Absurdities -- One of the main purposes of my site (or journaling), but apparently I don't tag it enough. I could probably tag every page "human absurdities," of course. Friends and Family -- Usually heartfelt reflections on or random stories about people who deserve more from life than I. In Memorium -- 'Nough said.
As you may have noticed, the site has changed. Sampa, the free-site host, did a version 2 of some sort.
Despite an FAQ that made it sound like allowing one's site to go through v.2 surgery would be okay, there were several flexibilities that surprisingly disappeared with the click of a button. (e.g. I cannot believe sidebars like this one are even narrower than before.)
And I'm told -- miraculously! -- that the conversion cannot be undone. Truth be told, I'm actually quite pissed. But free is free. Sampa has otherwise been good to me.
So I need to sort through site "features" to see how I can make do. Except that I don't have the time at the moment, in the middle of graduate classes and Lighthousehockey.com. (btw, I've removed that Lighthouse RSS feed so that you're not clogged with random Islanders hockey gibberish).
But I promise to touch up the accessories when I get a chance, and return to irregularly scheduled blogging.
